Blending Learning with Lego Education
The increase in remote learning has also increased interest in “Blended Learning”. According to the folks at Lego Education “Blended Learning combines in-person instruction with asynchronous learning that takes place outside of the classroom before and after in-person sessions. ” Lego Education advocates a model they call the “5E instructional model (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate) that lends itself to implementation in a blended learning environment because some stages of the model work best in an in-person setting, while others can easily be accomplished asynchronously.” To learn more about the model some great lesson ideas about how to put it into practice, download this detailed description and lesson plan from Lego Education.
